YEEESSSSSS! I'm only four levels in (rocking out to Sing Sing Sing, my eternal favourite) and this is such a wonderful game. I love the style, the idea, the little touches that tie like the curtain transition and the newspaper background. I see you put up a 'how I made it' postmortem and I'm as interested to read that as I have been to play this. Excellent work! :D

Wow! Thank you so much for the high praise. It's always a pleasure to meet fellow Jazz enthusiasts who resonate with the game :) I've got plans to build this one out in more detail.

I've been meaning to play your game forever! I love the concept and I'm having fun with it! It's very Swanky indeed! It took me a while to realize that I can slide the notes up and down. I'm not sure why, but moving the licks was not clear to me until I skipped the second level. Still, this game was really creative and has a Swanky, creative, and unique vibe. I think there's more to be done with this idea for sure

Thank you for the kind feedback! You're not alone. The slider was the biggest pain point for just about every player lol. Certainly something I'll have to point out in a tutorial in future iterations of this game

Really impressive game! visuals are stunning and everything works very smoothly.

As a jazz musician myself I loved hearing these classic tunes that inform so much of modern jazz. I personally would change some of the start and end points of the songs, I think it's better to start on beat 1 of a bar most of the time to hear each full melodic line. Apart from that I really can't fault this game, it's fantastic in concept and execution.

Our game uses jazz elements too, we'd appreciate you checking it out!

Thank you for the thoughtful and kind feedback! It's always great to meet fellow Jazz musicians!

Honestly, not starting on beat 1 was a design decision. My focus was to start at the beginning of a phrase, even if that meant starting in the pick ups. I figured it would help out non-musician players who might not have a running metronome in their heads like we do :P

You don't happen to have an HTML5 build of your game do you? I'm on a mac..

Do you have an email address where I can send a google drive link?  I don't think there's a way to PM through itch.io

Really cool game idea!

Don't know why, but it took me a while to figure out that you can slide things (spent a couple of minutes in level 2).

I did found it a little jarring that when you finish the puzzle you still get the breaks in the song. It would probably be very complicated to do levels that match the travel distances between puzzle elements and time those with backround music so that when you complete the puzzle you get the same starting "phrase", but that would make it really awesome!

Oh my god, I love this game so much!  You should definitely turn this into a full game!

Thank you for the super kind feedback! I'm honestly considering building it out into a bigger game. I had a lot of fun developing and designing this puzzle system.

I love jazz and puzzle games, so this was a blast to play from start to finish! Thanks for making this. Also, I love the art style and the way you implemented skill and agility besides the pattern recognition.

I'm glad you liked it! I honestly had a lot of fun brainstorming and designing this puzzle system. It's super encouraging to hear folks enjoy it!

I did it! That last one was a little tricky. I enjoyed listening to some great jazz

Thanks for playing! I'm glad the difficulty balance worked out so the last one was the toughest lol
