The underrated Gamecube game reimagined as a 2D SNES platformer - made for Retro Jam 2021

Controls:

A/Left Arrow = Left
D/Right Arrow = Right
W/Space = Jump
S/Down Arrow = Drop Egg/Bounce
Q  = Hatch Egg
E = Kick Egg

Jam Notes:

The artwork was made 2 days prior to starting the Jam (not including the Billy Sprite I got from spriters-resource.com). I also used music from my existing video game music library. Everything else from code to level design was developed during the Jam.

Side Effects (Retro Jame Theme):

  •  Speed Up: Allow player to run significantly faster
    • Side Effect: Worse deceleration
  • Cannonball: Indestructible object that can be used to destroy enemies
    • Side Effect: Consumes fruit permanently (until room reset) without growing 
  • Wings: Allow double jump
    • Side Effect: None
  • Egg bounce (Billy can ground pound while holding an egg, giving him a higher jump)
    • Side effect: Using the ability too quickly in sequence causes Billy to lose control and let go of the egg
  • Eggs can destroy enemies
    • Side effect: Egg itself takes damage. Enough damage will result in the egg shattering

Hello, I played Billy Hatcher and i really enjoyed this game, my favorite in this video, for 2d gameplay it was great. The Game starts at 7:49
